Let’s start off with the obvious- they’re gross! When we were developing the business, we took a look at our own garbage can. We had no idea it was as filthy as it was. It smelled very unpleasant and usually had an old gas station pizza wrapper stuck to the bottom. We’re sure that pizza wrapper spent many weeks at the bottom of our bin.
When we did more research, we learned not only that garbage bins are smelly and gross, but that they are breeding grounds for bacteria’s like salmonella, e-coli and listeria, and bugs like ants, maggots and seemingly millions of common flies.
In fact, in 2007, a study done by the Hygiene Council found that garbage bins have more than 400 living bacteria per square INCH. Too much info? Agreed.
But the reality is that more than 90% of average homeowners don’t clean their garbage cans- even on an annual basis. Even more, cleaning with soap and cold hose water can only get your garbage bin so clean.
Curb Appeal of WCI LLC uses special bin cleaning equipment including high-tech 360-degree rotating pressure heads to blast dirt, debris and whatever pizza wrappers your can might also have living in it. Our cleaning trailer has a hot-water heater on board that shoots our water through those pressure heads at 180 degrees with more than 3,000 psi of pressure. This leaves your can cleaned, sanitized and odor-free.
Using our garbage bin cleaning service is really easy! Simply fill out the REQUEST SERVICE form and let us know what day your garbage is picked up and what frequency of service you would like. On the day your garbage is picked up, simply leave your garbage can at the curb and we will be by that day to sanitize and deodorize for you. You will get an automated text from Curb Appeal of WCI LLC the night before your service day to remind you to leave your bin at the curb. Once we complete the cleaning, we will bring your sanitized and deodorized can(s) right to your garage door or house. Fresh and clean.
