GARBAGE BIN CLEANING FAQ

Why should I get my garbage bins cleaned by Curb Appeal of WCI LLC?

Your garbage bin environment is perfect for attracting insects, rodents and that awful smell that you dread every time you open it up. It is also home to a lot of harmful bacteria and can be the cause of your home or garage’s fly infestation. While we can’t guarantee you’ll be free from pests forever, cleaning your bin regularly with us will sanitize, deodorize and reduce the likelihood that your garbage bin becomes the roach motel.

When are bins cleaned during the year?

Our service season runs March through November but there may be times in December through February the weather is nice enough to go out. We will notify you in advance to schedule during the months of December through February. If you elect monthly service (Carroll, Jefferson, Denison) you will get a cleaning once a month on your garbage collection day for those 9 months. If you choose quarterly service, we will schedule on your garbage pick-up day once in the Mar/April/May quarter, once in the June/July/Aug quarter, and once in the Sept/Oct/Nov quarter. Visit our Garbage Can Cleaning page for more information on frequency and pricing.

My bin doesn’t look 100% new after a cleaning, what happened?

While we do use 180-degree water and eco-friendly materials during our sanitizing and deodorizing process, in rare cases garbage bins that haven’t been cleaned regularly can have a slight haze after it has dried. This is normal for bins that haven’t been cleaned in years, or extreme grime, and will continue to improve the more your bin gets cleaned.  Of course, bins that have been stained by paints, liquid woods stains, tar, adhesives, etc. cannot be fully removed by our process.

How do I sign up? Are there any contracts?

Request Service from Curb Appeal of WCI LLC by visiting the REQUEST SERVICE page on our website. You’ll be able to fill out a quick form about what services and frequency you’re requesting. Our team will reach out to schedule or find out more information. Our garbage bin cleaning subscriptions do not have any contracts, however, if you sign up for monthly or quarterly and cancel after one cleaning, your card will be charged the additional rate for a one-time cleaning. For example, if you signed up for monthly service, paid $15 and cancelled after the first cleaning, your card will be charged an additional $34 as you then have called for a one-time service.

When will my bins be cleaned?

This depends on your specific city. We will make every effort to schedule your bin cleaning on the same day your trash is collected. Of course, this may not be possible in some towns. When you REQUEST SERVICE from Curb Appeal of WCI LLC, we will ask you approximately the day and time when your trash is picked up. Our goal is to get your garbage bin cleaned and returned to your garage door or top of driveway by 8pm on your garbage day.

Can I gift a cleaning or subscription to a friend or neighbor?

Of course! If they’re located in our coverage cities you can certainly do this. Please send us an email curbappealofwci@gmail.com or call us at 712-210-9580 and we can get this arranged.

I don’t see my city listed, do you service my area?

We currently only service the cities and towns listed on our pricing flyer, but please let us know where you’re located so we can add you to our waiting-list. Our routes will grow and your area may be the next to be added. Better yet, get a group of friends, family and neighbors in your area to jump on the waiting list and get serviced sooner rather than later. Please email us curbappealofwci@gmail.com to get on a waiting list.

How is your cleaning process eco-friendly?

To effectively sanitize and deodorize, we use freshwater heated to 180-degrees and cleaning solutions that are bio-degradable as well as environmentally stable. All of the waste water is collected on our trailer and any solid debris is filtered out of the waste water. We then recycle the water back into the system to follow EPA guidelines. This is much better for the environment than washing your bin at home where your runoff can get into the storm sewer system and eventually to our ponds/rivers. Our waste water never gets dumped on the ground or into any body of water.

Do you offer discounts or specials?

YES. We offer discounted membership deals, subscriptions paid-in-full, discounts for Fire/Police/EMS/Military/Veteran/Teacher with a valid ID, and sign-up subscription discounts. We will also have various specials throughout the year so you can be sure to take advantage of the next one!

I’m a waste hauler or church or school or charity with many bins to clean- do you offer quantity discount?

Please send us an email curbappealofwci@gmail.com and we will contact you to discuss your needs.

Can you do my dumpster or roll-off?

Yes. Contact us curbappealofwci@gmail.com or 712-210-9580 to get a custom quote created.

PRESSURE WASHING AND HOUSE WASHING FAQ

Do I need any pressure washing services?

This is totally up to you. We think that protecting one of your largest investments is something worth considering, but the actual need and frequency of service is up to you. Our equipment is specifically designed to remove pollutants, mold, mildew, algae, dirt, and other organic contaminants from your driveways, sidewalks, homes, patios, decks and fences.

Isn’t pressure washing a DIY project?

While you certainly can pressure wash yourself, there is a clear distinction between DIY work and professional services. You can certainly buy or rent capable equipment, but the difference is to know the when, where, what and how much when it comes to detergents and pressures. Using the wrong chemicals or pressure as DIY can result in thousands of dollars in damage to your siding or deck or fence.  We have no doubt that you’re capable, but if you need a wingman- we offer free quotes HERE!

Why use Curb Appeal of WCI LLC for exterior cleaning?

We believe that our work will speak for itself, but since you asked- simply put- we pay attention to detail. We offer several unique solutions (and discounts if you need multiple services or are a current garbage bin cleaning customer) and keep you informed throughout the entire process. We won’t just do the minimum. This is much more than showing up with a pressure washer and shooting water. Our truck even carries a few yard tools in case your driveway or sidewalk needs a trim before it gets a fresh surface. We carry liquid plant fertilizer that we post-treat your landscaping with to help dilute any detergents that may make it to the soil from your house-wash. These things are standard to us.

Do I need to be at home for you to pressure wash my property?

Although we would encourage you to be present for us to give you a quote, you do not need to be at home while we do the actual service. If you are unable to be home, we would request that you make sure all windows are closed and you remove any items that are close to your home (such as planters/decorations.) If you’re having a driveway or deck cleaned, please move grills, planters, outdoor furniture or any other fragile items into a safe place. We take before and after pictures so that you can see the difference!

Is your pressure washing services eco-friendly as well?

YES! Curb Appeal of WCI LLC has a commercial water-vac on board to prevent any run off from getting to a storm sewer. If there is any risk of water run off to get to a storm drain, we will dam up the runoff and capture the runoff water to be properly disposed of later. This is not needed for all services or applications, but we do have the capability and will be EPA-compliant at all times.

Does there need to be a water source?

Yes. As standard procedure for pressure washing services, the water supply comes from your property hookup. We hook our hose up to your supply and connect to our on-board water tank. The water tank feeds our commercial pressure system which allows us to use the correct amount of detergent and pressure for the application we’re needing.

What is soft-washing and why do you use it?

Soft-washing is a technique used in our industry that allows us to get your exteriors clean without the need for extreme water pressure. As you can imagine, a lot of building materials are not designed to withstand 3,000 or 4,000 PSI of pressure without damage occurring. For these applications, we use a soft-wash procedure that relies more on low pressure and higher volume, along with a perfect detergent mix, to safely clean your surfaces. This helps us avoid stripping your homes vinyl siding UV protectant or paint, furring your wooden decks and fences, or etching your patio surfaces.

Can you do custom work?

Of course, we can. If you have something in mind that you need pressure washed or sanitized, let us know. We can do boats, campers, vehicles and even farm equipment.

DRYER VENT CLEANING FAQ

What are the signs that I need a dryer duct cleaning service?

There are a few things to take note of while asking yourself if you are in the market for a dryer vent cleaning. First and foremost, are your clothes drying as they should during a typical cycle? Or do you need to add 10 or 15 minutes to the end of a cycle? Also, take note of an extra humidity in the laundry room that isn’t typical or a musty smell coming from the clothes after they’ve been in the dryer. These can all be signs of restrictions in your airflow and our duct cleaning services can help with that.

Do I need a new dryer?

Likely, no. Dryers are relatively reliable pieces of equipment with longer than average lifespans for appliances. If your clothes are not drying as quickly or you suspect you have some venting issues, contact us for an inspection. We use an HD camera that can take pictures and video of your ducting.

How often do I need to service my dryer ducting?

This depends on a few different factors. First, how often are you using the dryer? A family of 6 or 8 will need dryer vent cleaning more often than a single homeowner. The age of your unit may affect this as well. Older units typically aren’t as effective filtering lint before pushing the air out of the unit. If your venting is longer than 5 feet or you have elbows or bends, you may notice that you need venting service more often. Some may need the service every year, some might be OK once every 2-3 years.

What happens if I’m satisfied with my ducting before you do any service?

When Curb Appeal of WCI LLC comes out for a dryer vent cleaning service, we’ll first use our HD camera to inspect your dryer duct. This will give you the “before” picture as well as allow us to examine any areas that might need attention. At this time, if you’re satisfied with how the ducting looks, you can opt out of the service and pay the $39 inspection fee. If you decide to continue with the duct cleaning, Elevated will waive the $39 fee and you only pay the service fee quoted to you. For more information on product and pricing, check our Dryer Vent Cleaning page.

What does a dryer vent cleaning with Curb Appeal of WCI LLC consist of?

As mentioned in a previous answer, we will inspect your ducting with our HD camera and allow you to decide the next action. If you decide to have the service done, your quoted price will include Curb Appeal of WCI LLC removing the lint from the ducting, as well as cleaning as much of the dryer lint trap on your dryer as we can access. We will vacuum both inside and outside and leave your property with no lint mess. A finished HD camera inspection to show you the results will be done at that time. Click here to Request Service.

Why can’t you service the ducting to my gas dryer or my dryer that vents in the attic?

Curb Appeal of WCI LLC currently cannot service ducting from dryers that are gas/LP fueled as we do not have gas leak-detecting equipment. This is for your safety in case we had to move your dryer and unintentionally caused a gas connection issue. We also are not insured to be in your attic, so if your venting exhausts to your attic, we will be unable to help with this. Thank you for your understanding.
